Many people that are going bald will think that there really is nothing you can do about it because it's hereditary. This is no necessarily the case.

Yes, losing your hair can run in the family and may have an impact on you but this is not the only reason why your potentially going bald. There are many factors that can contribute to losing your hair and many have to do with you actions and day to day activities. Hair loss can be prevented by using hair thinning remedies no matter if your hair loss runs in the family or not.

Here are 5 Hair Thinning Remedies that you can implement to prevent loss and promote growth:

Brushing

When you brush, this will help to unclog the follicles of dirt and a natural oil called sebum. When your follicles get clogged, then this will prevent the hair from growing or slow down the rate at which it grows. Investing in a decent brush will help to solve this problem and get rid of old sebum so your scalp can produce newer oils.

  1. QUESTION:
Does Olive or Castor oil helps to grow hair on Bald spots?
I have tiny bald spots and i want to grow hair on it. Last time i use it on my eyebrows because i over trimmed it, my eyebrows were beautiful bushy eyebrows, and then i use olive oil, it grew back the way i had it before. But does it works the same on bald spots. If not too bad. No rude answers.

    • ANSWER:
No. Some people think it makes their hair grow because it relaxes and moisturizes the hair, which can make it look a little bit longer, but it doesn't actually make your hair grow.

  2. QUESTION:
How to grow hair on bald spots?
i have three bald patches on my legs is there any way i can grow hair back ?

    • ANSWER:
Might be Alopecia Areata (SPOT BALDNESS). It is an autoimmune disease that causes bald spot that can spread to the whole scalp and sometimes even the whole body. Stress has been known to be the main cause.

For a start you can compare with the images in www.curespotbaldness.com. Following this, a skin biopsy should be carried out by a trained medical doctor or a dermatologist. This is the best way to diagnose and confirm. It will show any abnormal concentration of T-cells (immune cells) at the affected area.

  5. QUESTION:
Will hair grow back from bald spots lefts from bleach chemical burns?
I got my hair bleached and initially had scabs on my head in the beginning of Feb. I have two bald spots the size of your thumb right at the top of the crown of my head!

There isn't any peach-fuzz growing on those spots yet since last month. ALL the hair was burned off that left two huge obvious (completley bald) spots.
    will it grow back??

    • ANSWER:
If it has been 1 month I wouldn't worry just yet. Your scalp needs to heal from the burn. There is 2 concerns though.
#1 Depending upon how bad the burn was and how it heals you may get scar tissue, which hair will take a long time to grow through if it ever does.
#2. Burns can damage the follicle of the hair which will make the hair grow back slow and extremely thin.

There are a few things you will want to do.
#1. Evaluate how bad the burn was and determine whether or not you think there will be scar tissue. If no then go to step 2 if yes go to a dermatologist.
#2. Use a shampoo that has no sulfates. Sulfates are found in cheap shampoos. They are abrasive salts used to cleanse the hair but they do serious damage to the scalp and hair in the process.
#3. Start taking Elon Matrix 5,000 vitamins. These vitamins have biotin in them, which Dermatologists have found to help in hair regrowth. From what I have read about this product it helps rebuild the follicle and strengthen the hair. From using the product I know it works. My hair is thicker and healthier now than it has been in years. The company also has a nice sulfate free hair care collection that I use because I loved their vitamins so much I figured I would give that a shot and it's great !! They have also found it can help in allopicia patients, which most things don't help with. I'd say in your case if there's no scar tissue this should help.
#3. No more bleach for a looooooooong time.
      Hope this helps! GOOD LUCK!

  6. QUESTION:
I have Alopecia due to stress, Will my hair grow in my bald spots?
I went to the dermatologist april 29th and she gave me steroid shots in my bald spots and prescribed me a gel to apply 2 times a day and prednisone to take for the next 16 days. You think this will work? Any suggestions on making hair grow?

    • ANSWER:
If the spots are in the size of a quarter and has a smooth surface. Check out the images in the website below, if its similar then it must be Alopecia Areata.

My bro managed to find a website called http://www.ALOPECIA-AREATA-CURE.com when he had the same problem that explains about the condition and suggests treatment. He gave it a try and to all our surprise he recovered.

Its quite informative. You might want to give it a try. Wish you a quick recovery.

please tell iam in a depressed condition when one vulgar pulled my hair strongly i know much hair i lost from all over here and there but when i see in mirror some bald spots are there in head if i take biotin will it help to grow new hair on bald spots please help me iam about to be married after 4 months please please

    • ANSWER:
it was really hard to understand your question but....biotin is used to make the hair you have grow healthier and faster. If you just lost some hair-like it broke off and is going to grow back then the biotin will help speed it up at least a little. If you have an actual condition were you are balding (alopecia) then biotin will not grow that hair back. Just remember that either way it's no miracle, it adds maybe 1/4" if that each month to your hair growth if taken regularly.

  16. QUESTION:
trichotillomania- will hair grow back from the bald spots?
I used to pull a lot of beard mustache...now that I finally noticed I have many small circular bald spots...I am wondering if it has been caused by the constant pulling of my beard near my chin and neck..now that I have stopped pulling on it...I was wondering..do these bald spots grow back? Is this what lead to alopecia barbae? are they related...has my pulling of the hair caused this? Can this be cured? I also used to put salycilic acid oxy pads around my neck and chin for pimples but now I have stopped...My mustache sometimes turns blonde but my normal facial hair is suppose to be black...any ideas anyone?

    • ANSWER:
First off, the hair pulling can be treated, but not cured. The hair regrowth is an entirely individual thing.

The color becomes lighter the more often you pull the hair because of damage to the hair root. Once it's changed color to blonde or grey it's not likely for it to immediately go back to black, if it does at all. The change in color may also be a natural thing for you based on genetics, but there's really no way to know here.

If you don't know much about available treatments, look for a psychiatrist and a therapist who specialize in trichotillomania and cognitive behavioral therapy. Therapy and anti-depressants have shown the best results for most people, but as you may already know, there isnt a cure.

Take good care of your hair! It will add to your charm - who can resist a person with lovely, silky hair? So do try out the above tips! Hope these littles tips have been useful! :)

Tips To Stop Hair Loss & Keep Healthy Hair Here are some hair care tips that you can use to help stop hair loss and keep your existing hair healthy and looking great. Please don't take these tips lightly. They are very important . The only thing they require is your time and commitment.

      - Massage your scalp with your fingertips (not your nails) daily to stimulate and promote circulation to your scalp and reduce excess fallout. Invert your head while you shampoo & massage your scalp. This helps promote blood circulation to the head.

      - Essential oils & tea . To stimulate scalp circulation, massage the scalp with rosemary essential oil or rinse hair with tea made from sage.

      - Comb or brush your hair and scalp gently in the morning and at night. This helps break up hardened oils (sebum) that are clogging your hair follicles. Doing this alone has produced new hair growth. Do not over do combing or brushing.

      - keep a distance from dryer's heat. When using blow dryers, always keep the heat a good distance from your scalp and hair. Avoid heating the scalp and hair excessively. Excessive heat will increase hair loss, and excess fallout.

      - Avoid getting hair creams, lotions, styling gels and sprays directly on the scalp as they will clog your hair follicles. Use a light hold spray if you must.

      - After swimming in a pool, shampoo your hair as soon as possible to remove any chlorine residue. Chlorine is extremely damaging to the hair and scalp.

      - Avoid over-exposing your hair and scalp to the wind and sun. Good hair care over a long period really makes a difference!

      - Avoid tight hats and caps as they contribute to poor circulation, depriving the hair of proper nutrition and stunting new hair growth. The sweat, dirt and grime around the rim inhibit follicle health and contribute to build-up.

      - Always consult your health care provider for extreme causes of excess fallout and thinning. A medical condition or medication could be causing hair loss side-effects.

      - Strive for balance and harmony in both your personal and professional lifestyle. High stress factors can cause your body to react by fluctuating hormone levels. This in turn causes excessive oil secretion (sebum) which results in hair loss.

      - Pregnancy, nursing, menopause, and even birth control medication can cause constant changing factors on your nutritional needs and hormonal levels which contribute to hair loss and excess fallout.

      - Avoid "crash and fad" diets. Proper nutritious meals along with vitamin and mineral supplements are a key factor for healthy hair and skin.

      - Good hair care starts with awareness. These hair care tips, if followed consistently, will reduce excess fallout, hair loss, and promote new hair growth.

      - Reduce hair loss effects by increasing your intake of vitamin C found in fresh fruits and vegetables, particularly citrus fruit and juices, parsley, broccoli, green peppers and black currants. Take a vitamin B complex everyday or brewers yeast. Increase your intake of protein found in meat, fish, liver, wheat germ, dried cooked beans and peas, tofu, cheese, milk and eggs.

      - Take dietary supplements such as Vitamin B6, zinc & saw palmetto. Supplements are useful when you can't get enough from natural food sources.

      - The Chinese believe that hair is nourished by the blood, and therefore influenced by the kidney & liver. Treatment is aimed at these organs using fleece flower root, wolfberry fruit or mulberry fruit.

      - Eliminate stress or else it can be disastrous to your precious hair!

      - Get enough sleep. Sleeping well is essential for the health of your hair as well as for the rest of your body.

There are ways you can help stop the grease from appearing but you have to work at it.

Do not wash everyday. The cleaner your hair is the more it can seep into your glands and harder it is to get rid of. When you do wash make sure you are washing with a cleaning shampoo and scrubbing the build up off. Take in mind that you also have to have a ph-balanced mild shampoo and lite scrubbing is recommended. Try to avoid conditioner at the roots, apply in the middle or on the ends.

Try to avoid oil in your daily food intake. And do eat more vegetables. You could visit your doctor but only after you check and consider your diet, drugs, alcohol, and your fatty food intake. Let's face it we see what McDonalds can do to your heart in a month, can you image your hair. You would be dripping everywhere.

Maybe it's time to change your shampoo. Ask your stylist what she or he would recommend. Avoid using shine products at all costs. Keep away from two-in-one shampoos and conditioners and any frizz serums.

To fix at the moment, rub a little Talcum Powder on your dried hair at the roots. Just make sure you wash it out. I wish they would event that magic product, but this will help until they do.

Here are 10 tips for to keep your hair strong, smooth, shiny and beautiful!

      1. Keep your diet balanced, and eat protein and calcium rich foods. Stay away from junk foods! This is essential for healthy hair.

      2. Foods and supplements to nourish your hair:

      * Beans
      * Yogurt
      * Almonds
      * Vitamin B
      * Fish
      * And of course, the magic potion for beauty - WATER

      3. Before washing your hair, comb it well to make sure all knots has been loosened from your hair.

      4. Before applying shampoo, use warm water (35 to 38 degrees Celsius) to run through your hair to rinse and wet it thoroughly.

      5. When applying shampoo or conditioner, don't use your fingernails to scrape through your hair. Instead, use your palm and fingertips to massage your scalp and hair gently, in circular motions. This will help the circulation and also help to keep your hair shiny and smooth.

      6. After rinsing away all the shampoo, run water over your hair for at least another half a minute (3 minutes is best) to ensure there are no remains of shampoo remaining in your hair, since this will cause a great deal of damage to your scalp.

      7. When applying hair treatment products, do so just after you have washed your hair, so that your hair can absorb all the good stuff while it is half wet. This will be the best time for it to absorb nourishment.

      8. NEVER go to bed with your hair wet! Hair that is half wet is most easily broken, and if you sleep during this time, your hair will be rubbing against each other, damaging your hair in the most terrible way.

      9. Too much pressure may lead to hair loss! Relax... try some good relaxation methods such as soaking in a nice scented bath, listening to music, and eating healthy comfort foods such as strawberries and grapes.

      10. Perming and coloring seriously damages your hair. Avoid it as much as possible. Also, when using hair setting products such as gel or putty, use as little as possible, because they hurt your scalp and hair. Wash them out thoroughly afterwards with a shampoo specially created for removing styling products.

i got my hair pulled out and it got ripped right at the root and its a huge long line of a bald spot. is there anything that will make the hair grow faster on it ??? help ! ! !

    • ANSWER:
As long as the follicles were not damaged your hair should eventually grow back. In the normal hair growth cycle, when a hair naturally falls out, there is already a new hair growing from the same follicle. In your case, because the hair came out prematurely, new hairs need to be generated from scratch from cells at the base of each follicle. This process may take several months Massaging the scalp with nourishing oils such as jojoba, rosemary, basil, etc can help increase blood circulation and nutrition to the follicles, encouraging healthy hair growth. Depending on the severity of trauma to the follicles, it is possible that some follicles may be damaged.

  36. QUESTION:
how can i get my hair to grow,i have some bald spots on the front line of my head?

    • ANSWER:
To grow your hair, I would start an intensive hair growth regimen consists of three major components: a healthy eating plan, substantial water intake, and a high quality hair growth and hair care product.

I understand your concerns, but I would tell you that no matter how many products or treatments you have tried, hair growth can be achieved despite years of stunted hair growth, shedding, and hair trauma. Trust me, I am speaking from personal experience. About three years ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Unfortunately, one of the side effects of my medications and chemotherapy was hair loss and balding. Devastated by having patches of hair on my head, during recovery, I did what most people do---I bought wigs. At first, the wigs seemed like a perfect solution. But, they were really a cover up. Moreover, my niece would scream when she saw me because she couldn’t recognize me with my “new wig.” So, I begin using hair loss products in hopes to regrow my hair. Unfortunately, this was another unsuccessful venture. Rogaine. DHT Blockers. Minoxidil. All of these products failed to perform what they promised. Further, I spend hundreds of dollars on Minoxidil every month, only to have no hair growth and a sore scalp. Frustrated, I decided that there had to be a method or some natural product available that would grow my hair, stop my shedding, and stop my balding. Believe it or not, I found one.

Step One: Buy a High Quality Hair Growth Product
I suggest you go all-natural. Unnatural hair care products are a no-no for someone who wants long-lasting, healthy hair growth. Find a hair growth product that contains powerful essential oils, natural herbs, and vitamin rich nutrients your hair needs to survive. Look for products with ingredients such as: Aloe Vera, Citrus Fruits, Jojoba, Rosemary, and Sage. Make sure you stray away from all natural products that use natural extracts. Extracts are not as powerful as essentials oils. They are a cheap substitute for the real thing. Although there are several natural hair care products on the market, not all hair growth products are created equal. Make sure you read the fine print. Most “natural” products still contain phosphates, sodium lauryl sulfate, petroleum, mineral oil, and other lab created humectants that ultimately damage your hair. My advice---if you can’t read the ingredients, don’t buy the product. When I was searching for a natural hair growth product, I found one really great buy, Beauty 4 Ashes Super Hair Growth System. Finding this company took me awhile; but Beauty 4 Ashes pretty much gives you everything you need to make your hair grow. Foremost, I checked the ingredient listings and the products contained no artificial ingredients. The system also included hair growth vitamins, a great hair healthy eating plan, and even scalp stimulating hair growth exercise routine. At first, the system may seem a bit pricey, but, boy was I impressed with the results. In 9 months, I went from patches of hair to hair just above my shoulders. Now, I am no product junkie; but I have to tell you that this product is worth the money. It does not cost an arm and leg and it is worth every penny you pay. You can find it easily at www.discoverb4a.com. Also, check for it on Ebay. You may actually find a deal.

Step Two: A Healthy Hair Eating Plan
Your hair is all protein. Thus, you need a protein rich diet, chocked fill of B Vitamins and other hair-strengthening nutrients. Increase your intake of fish. It is full of healthy proteins and essential fatty acids and natural oils your hair needs. In addition, drink a protein supplement or shake everyday. If you follow this plan, not only will your hair grow, but you will also lose weight. That is, of course, if you lay off the junk food. Remember, I warned you too much junk food above.

      Step Three: Drink Water
Eight to ten glasses of water is an absolute requirement. Drinking water flushes your body of toxins, chemicals, and impurities that stifle your hair growth and disrupt your hormone and enzyme imbalances. Water also transports the important nutrients your body needs throughout your body. Hate drinking water? Add lemon and Splenda to have a healthy, tasty alternative.

  37. QUESTION:
Red bald spots/circular areas where little hair try to grow back on my Dalmatian's back! HELP ME PLEASE!?
At first I thought she might be alergic to some kind of food or the bed cover, but this has sarted since she was 3 months until now she's seven months old. I showed her to three vets, one told me this is a microscopic insect that affects dogs with white coats, and asked me to use Butox in her shower regularly, but Butox is pretty poisoning and still can't see its progress. The other gave me a cream called TineaCure and I actually used about 5 boxes so far with no progress, third vet who is a relative didnt know for sure what this is so he told me to try putting Betadine on the bald areas so maybe it would kill anything under the skin and again it didnt help and he turned clueless. I have another appointment with another vet tomorrow but I seriously need someone to give me an idea what are these growing bald circles eating my doggie's beautiful coat and skin and how can I stop it and make it go away?! :-( Am worried this might never go away.

    • ANSWER:
Is she itchy? If she is scratching the spots then it's a skin allergy which can be treated with topical anti-itch, or shots.
If one vet did a skin scraping and found a parasite, (a type of Mange) then there are treatments, my dog was put on Revolution with a Preventic collar rather than Frontline. The meds in Revolution killed the tiny worm like parasite.
It may be ring or whip worm as suggested.
You have the right to ask lots of questions about the Meds you give your dog. If something doesn't add up - tell the Vet. Better to have him keep looking than take your dog home and get no relief.

  38. QUESTION:
When will bald spots grow back?
My son was born with a lot of hair, but I've noticed lately it's thinning and now he has bald patches on the sides of his head from sleeping. When does hair start growing back?

    • ANSWER:
My daughter rubbed a huge bald patch on the back of her head. It started at about 4 months and didnt fully grow back in till about a year. I also put a piece of satin material over her matress where her head would lay so that the hair "slipped" over it when she moved rather than have the cotton "pull" at it when she moved. The satin worked wonders and it started growing back a lot quciker

  46. QUESTION:
Why Do Men Have Bald Spots? And How Can You Have Hair Grow On It........?
    without using commerical chemicals

    • ANSWER:
Hair loss is something that can affect one's self-esteem and confidence significantly. If you want to promote healthy growth of hair and enjoy bouncing hair again, then you need to know how to nourish your scalp in the right way. Listed below are 3 tips to help you achieve greater success when it comes to preventing baldness and growing your hair back.

      1. Major Vitamins

To effectively fight against premature hair loss, you need to ensure your body and scalp receives the right vitamins it needs on a regular basis. By providing your hair follicles with helpful nutrients such as Vitamins A, B and E on a daily basis, you are helping to increase the amount of blood circulation to your scalp to facilitate hair regrowth. Deficiency in essential vitamins can result in brittle and weak hair structures. A frail hair composition can add to unnecessary hair loss.

      2. Biotin

This is one of the most important nutrients for better hair regrowth. It belongs to a special vitamin B complex group. You can find biotin in a number of food sources including eggs, browner yeast, chicken, peas, milk and cheese. Biotin alone will not help you to grow back new hair, but deficiency in this nutrient can cause you to suffer from baldness spots.

      3. Saw Palmetto

It is interesting to find that this herb are used to stimulate hair regrowth after hundred of years of use as a health tonic. Researchers have suggested this herb can restrain the activity of 5-alpha-reductase, which is responsible for promoting the build of DHT in the body. DHT (dihydrotestostrone) is also notoriously known as the chief culprit for causing damages to your hair follicles. It inhibit the expansion of new hair cells and can cause your hair to wither off earlier than it should be.

And now, I want to share with you an all-natural, dermatologist-formulated solution to help slow thinning hair in both men and women. This wonderful hair loss remedy helps stop hair loss and stimulates healthy hair growth so you can grow new hair naturally.

  48. QUESTION:
advice or tips on how to grow healthy hair after shaving it bald?
    im 17 and im female. in dec. 2006 i put fusion extentions on my hair and it pulled my hair out in spots. so i am going to shave it all bald this summer. {i plan on buying a nice wig or something}

is there any websites or any advice or tips on what i should do to make my hair grow back healthy...? vitamins, shampoos and conditioners, treatments to my scalp?

    • ANSWER:
I don't know about web sites for this, but I do know what has helped my hair to grow in stronger and faster. Pick an excellent over the counter "high potency" multivitamin and spend a bit of extra money on some folic acid vitamins. Take your vitamins everyday (in doses recommended only). Eat a healthy, balanced diet, and avoid any starvation diets. Massage your scalp daily, or brush it twice a day with a baby brush for a good 15 minutes. Also, avoid blowing your new hair growth with a blow dryer or using irons or heat tools on it. In addition, buy a salon grade shampoo and conditioner to keep your scalp healthy. I like Matrix Volume Therapy, but their Hydra-therapy line is excellent as well. Good luck on your re-growth!

P.S. I forgot, try to avoid wearing wigs or hats unless absolutley necessary. They can inhibit circulation to the scalp and slow growth. They also can increase the destruction to the new "baby hairs," so only use the wigs when necessary.

  49. QUESTION:
Will bleaching hair hide bald spots?
I have fairly dark hair to start with. I have a few noticeable bald spots around the crown of my head from pulling my hair. ( It seems like I just can't not do it). I have a Ball to go to at the end of the month and want to hide them. So my q: is would dyeing my hair a straw like color make the scalp spots less noticeable as they grow out? i do pull it back mainly in a low ponytail to hide them on a regular basis. The spots are visible since the hair is so thin above them.

    • ANSWER:
      Don't bleach your hair!!
Bleach is the worst thing to use when dying your hair..
it bleaches the color right out AKA killing it.
And it'll cause your hair to fall out.. so really you're only going to make it worse.

  50. QUESTION:
Is there a way to make my hair grow back?
Ok, so i was born prematurely at 8 months and the doctors injected something at the side of my head that was supposed to make me survive, but the injection made that the root of my hair became burned and now theres a permanent bald spot on the side of my head.

So I was wondering if there was like a treatment or operation that could let me grow hair on that bald spot again?

    • ANSWER:
Yeah... Hair transplant... technically you could get your pubes grafted onto the side of your head but if you don't have wiry carpet hair it might look a bit odd...

It also depends on the size of the patch... perhaps you could comb over in the meantime?
